Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go, without having to switch devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that enables it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. best robot hoover hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine.
